Re: “A High School Senior's 'Knotty' Artwork Is Censored

This is clearly censorship. The principal and the artist should understand that once the work leaves the artists hands the interpretation will taken over by the viewer . In this case the artist seems to have intended social protest about restrictions but the principal and the students turned that work into sexual bondage and abuse. But that is what the viewers brought to the experience not the artist. the artists work and her statement gives the intent of the work. It is the principals position to defend the artist not censor her work. To the artist I would say congratulations you proved you point.

Re: “How Dare You! Protesters Exclaim

Well I say that most people view female circumcision/female genital mutilation as barbaric. So how does male circumcision not qualify also? These body parts whether male or female serve a purpose and a function. I prefer to not lose parts of my body. I would advocate for no circumcision on either sex. Teach proper hygiene and birth/disease control and the boys will be just fine.

Re: “Seven Vermont Women to Watch

I am very proud that these women are represented. But I am a disappointed that we did not see a larger age spread. Why limit it to under 40? There are many women in their 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and so on that are impacting great change here in Vermont. You do not have to be a 20 or 30 something to have the energy and passion to do amazing things. Please consider future articles including more diversity.

Re: “Bells Over Burlington: A Church's Chimes Get Mixed Reviews

Bells tolling the hour or service doesn't bother me. A whole hymn? No thank you.
