I'm kind of confused by the other comments which pan Kismet after moving to it's new State St Locale. I loved breakfast at the Barre st. Location and have been back twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast at the new location. both times were great in every way, prompt service, generous portions of innovative and delicious food at a reasonable price.
For dinner I had the steak (tenderloin) and frites (mixed beets and potatoes) topped with a fried quail egg. I rarely order steak but this was incredible, I had to will myself to eat it slowly. For an appetizer we had a house smoked lamb with tahini. Also fantastic.
I went back for breakfast on a saturday morning in the week before chrsitmas, and naturally it was packed, but we were offered coffee right away to sip while we waited for our food. The pork belly Banh Mi sandwich was an outstanding adaptation of the vietnamese street dish on a great baguette. Anyhow, Kismet is still my favorite restaurant in Vermont and I'm happy that they've expanded their offerings in their new location.
