C'mon really!
So we went there for a special occasion thinking that the food was going to be great considering the Chef came from Solstice. $28 dollars I paid for a rib-eye that was a 1/2 inch thick. 1/2 inch thick, really?! For that kind of money is a slap in the face. For 28 dollars I could get a beautiful NY strip at another establishment with in 2 minutes walking distance from the river house. The Au Gratin potatoes were under cooked, the potatoes were still crunchy, major turn off. My wife had the pasta special. Her pasta was all stuck together, and she claims that the lobster in it smelled fishy and not fresh, as if it came out of a can, or was cooked a few days ago. Maybe that is why it was a special. The service was good on the other hand. Our waitress was a peach, even after having to endure our berating the food.I had really high hopes for this place and am really disappointed, to the point that I don't think I will go back. The menu needs some work too. Needs more than steak, chicken and fish. At this point I am scared to try their Prime Rib on the nights it is a special for fear of another major disappointment. I see the Chef reads these ratings, Please I challenge you to change my mind and wow me. Being a local, I haven't been "wowed" by a restaurant in town for a while. I am not that fussy, I just expect good food for the price I am paying, and I don't mind paying if it is worth it.
