Re: “Pauline's Café

I'd heard good word of mouth, but we weren't very impressed. We were the first brunch customers of the day, and we started out with dirty mugs. I let that slide as it was just a smudge, but our food, which seemed to have come from good recipes (i forget the name of my meal, but it had crab and hollandaise), was inadequately cooked. My husband's bacon was overdone, all out us with benedict-type meals had burnt toast/muffins, and our juices were more ice than juice, it seemed. I didn't have any, but my dining companions said the coffee was really bad. I really wanted to like this place, but I doubt we'll go back. Ambiance and setting were okay, but nothing particularly notable. Food: 2 Ambiance: 3 Service: 3

Re: “Tilt Classic Arcade and Ale House

I left happy, but there was much to be desired.

The good: The grub and the concept! I really enjoyed being able to stroll up to a pinball game while I was waiting for my food, and after we were done eating and had a few drinks, it was even better. I really really liked my Tilt burger. It was tasty and well-cooked. The beer selection is good, and my cocktail was a treat!

The bad: Service/setup. They need to figure out how to manage the service...I couldn't tell if we were to find our own table or wait to be seated, and we were afraid at times to go play games for fear of others taking our table. We also were unsure when to pay our check...before we went out on the floor to play games and possibly drink more, or after? It also sounds like the wait staff (while super nice!) haven't figured that out, yet, either. My co-diners thought the place needed to figure out what it wanted to be, as it claims pub fare but has some ritzy sounding (and somewhat pricey) dishes. Some of my co-diners were also disappointed with the game selection and the noise, although that didn't bother me.

Overall, I had a really fun time and enjoyed the food, so I'll be back!

Re: “The Milton Diner

Stopped by with my fiancé as we were heading by town. I'd heard of it through some coworkers and figured it'd be a decent spot to stop for a burger. From the outside, it looked a little questionable, but with a diner, you never can tell by the looks of it. It was around 2:30 and there were a few tables full. This has the look of a mom and pop that hasn't been refinished since it opened (1980s floral wallpaper), but it was cozy and comfortable (albeit a little dirty). We both ordered burgers and fries, and my fiancé also got coffee. He remarked that it was better than would be expected at a diner. I found my burger and fries surprisingly enjoyable (the fries especially...they rivaled Al's, in my opinion). The prices were reasonable, and we really enjoyed our meal. Glad we stopped in!
