Remember when the *actual* free press existed? I miss it.
I had him my freshman year as well, in the fall of 1983. He was so surly and spewed about how much he hates all politicians. One day, a brave soul in the back of the room (not me!) was sick of his negativity, and asked what politician he actually LIKED. He looked very nervous, seemed embarrassed, and hesitantly admitted that he liked Ted Kennedy for president in 1980. (Which to 18 year old me seemed like a generation earlier.) That is the one thing I remember from that entire class. Well, I also remember that I did not get an A!

Re: “Why Were There 13 Animal Kidneys at the Intervale?”
I'm confused. How did Pollack get a photo of them on a log unless she took them post-vomit to a fallen tree somewhere? Gross!
And to not reach out to the african communities who garden and fish there is lazy reporting. It could likely be a ritual of some sort
And does this remind anyone of that old ghost story, "Johnny, I want my liver back?"
In the updated version, our intrepid journalist is visited by the ghosts of 13 former staffers of Mayor Sanders. "Sally, we want our kidneys back!"
