Holly,
Brenna got legislation passed? LMAO You mean a bill that bans Coyote Hunting Contests that has no penalties and only bans them if they offer cash prizes? That was equated to the ban on hunting and killing a sasquatch and harming champ law.
That is what is what politically is called "a pat on the head".
Holly,
Wanna know the inside info under the dome?
What Mike said is 100% correct and what you, POW, VCCC and ABCXYZ are doing is wrong when you attack groups such as the Audubon Society, Sierra Club and VNC. The politicians(Repubs or Dems or Indi) notice your attacks especially those that are sympathetic to your cause. If poli's see you attack long time allies, guess what? They will not take you seriously. I made a few calls to Sens and Reps back in VT that have long been supportive of environmental causes and animal abuse. They know you, and they don't like you. These same poli's tell me that when they see Brenna, Tom, and company coming down the hall to talk, they turn the other way. When speaking to them, the Sens and Reps told me, "They pat them(Brenna and Company) on the head, give them milk and cookies and nod. Then send them on their way."
Most of the environmental caucus in the state house view these groups as quote; "nut cases and kryptonite".
Not something you want to be known for if you want legislation to pass.
So keep attacking possible allies and making enemies.
Keep up shooting yourselves in the foot.
14 years of lobbying in the state house taught me that anyone can be an ally, even my enemy.
Penelope,
Name another country that has the same constitution as the U.S. with the same rights and protections. That will answer your questions.
This will get the people going!

I love Politians and people spouting off that don't know how the criminal court works or the current state statute s or U.S. Code.
So what laws would have prevented this..
These are just his Conditions of Release(COR) which he violated:
-Not to enter any establishment with a liquor license
-Not to possess or have a firearm(s)
-Not to be under the influence of or possess alcohol
-Not to be under the influence of or possess a controlled substance
-Not to associate with other felons
-Participate in rehab.- I take it Nectars has qualified therapists.
City Ordinances, State and federal laws(to name a few) that he violated:
-Felon in possession of a firearm. F/S
-Reckless endangerment
-Public intoxication
-Assault with a deadly weapon
-Possession of a controlled substance
-Possession of narcotics
-Illegal firearm transfer, AKA "Straw purchase"
-Discharging a firearm in BTV city limits
And those are just the beginning.

Good Article Terry though you missed what legislative council said, that it had a "trifecta of constitutional problems."
So didn't the Defender General saying it circumvented the judicial and due process.
@Norm Blais,
How many times was your license to practice law suspended? O.o Bad advice to your client? BTW How come you didn't run again for city council?
" received overwhelming support at the polls when Burlington voters" Yea polls. Remember when California banned Marriage Equality via referendum? Hmmm ? Polls don't always lead Constitutional Laws. In Fact, they have a very poor record of Constitutional protection. That is why Vermont is a Republic.
No the NRA didn't stop your bill. Blame the "boogie man" all you want, but the legislature council did. Shall I quote the minutes?
The NRA spent roughly $7K according to the VT SEC State's office, BUT the Gun Sense VT and Everytown Spent over $254K .
17 states have laws similar. 4 have not been enforced, 3 are on judicial appeal and 5 are being challenged in court.
Yea. Due process. What do you know about it?
Re: “Backseat Driver? In Gov. Phil Scott's Administration, Chief of Staff Jason Gibbs Takes the Wheel”
Great article Mr Heintz! Bravo!
So true!
Gibbs is an idiot! He was when he was with Douglas and is a bigger one today.
