Re: “On the Rise: Liberty House Opens in Burlington

$1,350 to $1,900/month for a 1 bedroom unit! This will do nothing for affordable housing in Burlington or Chittenden County. This is simply gentrification. Maybe the poor can get the crap apartments that are left over.

Re: “Walters: ‘Plenty of Time’ for Scott’s New Plan

Rep. George Till (D-Jericho) asked whether Scotts plan would leave teachers with poorer coverage. Will people not get the ongoing care they need? he asked. That $26 million is health care the teachers will not be getting.

They will be receiving the same coverage that you have mandated all others in the state to chose from. So it's OK for everyone, but the teachers?

Re: “Namuna Asian Kitchen Opens in Winooski

Used to LOVE Dharshan Namaste Asian Deli was so said when they switched owners. Never really cared for Spice Traders' Kitchen. It just wasn't nearly as good ss Namaste. Hopefully this new place will be just as good as Namaste.

Re: “Pending Lawsuit Stalls Winooski Hotel Project

I applaud the Winooski Downtown Redevelopment Association for rejecting this hotel. The lot they are proposing to build on is .18 acres, which is barley suitable for a single family home. This is a poorly thought out project. I am surprised that the city of Winooski is so vested in it. The downtown development is such a hodge podge as it is with limited parking. Not to mention the incoming 1,500 seat venue being built on the old Key bank property. That also will not have space for parking either. Regardless of what one might think or want ,Vermont is still a very car centric state as public transportation is limited.

Re: “Burlington Harbor Marina Gets Council Approval

4 million gain to the city over a 40 year lease or about $100,00/year? Someone is making some money off this and it is not the city who is selling out public land for private use.
