Re: “Shumlin Mum on Scheuermann Bid

"I put off any discussions about what next, who next or why next until Labor Day, or shortly thereafter,"

So Shumlin doesn't want to talk about his track record with VTers until at least after Sept 1... or shortly thereafter... meaning sometime after the election actually occurs.

Shumlin doesn't want to run a campaign... and he especially doesn't want to talk to the public unless they have been vetted and hand picked by his staff. He doesn't want to explain why he trash talked state workers, threw school boards under the bus, conned a mentally challenged man out of his property, spends most of his time fundraising in other states, hasn't come up with a financing plan for GMC, or why he hasn't done much of anything this entire legislative session...

While I always thought Shumlin was unethical, immoral, and the worst possible choice of the 5 Dems that ran for the Governorship when Douglas retired, the one aspect I thought he did have was leadership. He has been absent this year, as he busys himself with DGA duties instead of the challenges we face in Vermont.

Shumln has got to go. Even if he is replaced with another Democrat...

Re: “CCTA, Drivers Swap Barbs; No End in Sight for Strike

According the Freeps the hold up is over cameras on the buses and using them to review anonymous complaints. The drivers will not return to the table unless CCTA agrees to stop handing out punishments for violations found on the cameras and removes them.

So to the 10,000 people that have missed rides, walked to work, missed Drs. appts, lost jobs and wages... the reason for that is because the drivers don't want to get in trouble if they do something wrong. They do not want to be held accountable if the video catches them in the act. That's why you do not have a ride to work, the hospital, and why you children have to walk to school. Because they will not accept video cameras on the bus...

It seems to me that if their biggest worry is getting caught doing something wrong... they shouldn't be in the position they are in... driving buses with school children on them? Do you really want someone driving you children around that deliberately and specifically wants to avoid punishment for doing something wrong? Me neither...

Re: “Traveling Salesman: Shumlin Pitches Himself Coast to Coast

Sounds like Shummy is playing fast and loose with the campaign finance laws... not surprising, it's not the first time he has disregarded them... or any law for that matter.

Shumlin, the most ethically challenged Governor this state has ever seen.

I know a republican can oust him for office so please will a respectable Democrat step up please and get this guy to go away. Racine.... Smith... Anyone...

Re: “CCTA Strike On; Agency Says Drivers Owe Them an Offer

"further marginalizes bus drivers' ability to win a fair contract and end 13.5 hour split shifts which impact safety for our entire community"

The 13.5 hour down time was actually requested by the drivers.....

Re: “CCTA Drivers Union Head: I Will Vote 'No,' Strike Still Possible

They are irritated that CCTA is going from 13 to 7 part time employees and for having to work a splits shift... a split shift which they are compensated for... earning up to $70,000 a year for...

Here's the solution,

Offer the drivers who want a split shift the same money they get now, and those that want a straight 8 hours shift can take a 20% pay cut and work a normal shift. Simple.

Re: “Burlington Voters Approve Gun Control Measures by Big Margins

Shap Smith indicated today that it was unlikely the Legislature would approve the change as it would require changing VT law and he was really interested in doing that.
