@kcnelso2 You raise a good question. I can totally see how that line in the article could be misinterpreted.
The content of our "Femmechanics" class is no different than any 3-day introductory class to basic mechanics would be for anyone. We offer a class exclusively to female-identifying people because the bicycling world is male-dominated and we want to create extra opportunities for others to enter into it. Some women report feeling intimidated by male-dominated bike shops, so Femmechanics creates an opportunity for a group of women to hang out with a female mechanic and talk shop.
We offer bicycle mechanics classes that are open to everyone, as well. We want to share the bicycle love with everyone, and especially with people who have more barriers.
