Re: “Vermont's 'Fishin' Politician' Faults the Ethics Panel That Let Him Off the Hook

Odds are his license was suspended in IL. If so, It means he falsely got one in VT. Also being a felon in another state but owning a firearm also means he’s in violation of federal law and the ATF should take him down.

Re: “A Gunshot Survivor Aims to Secure Background Checks in Vermont

Law enforcement has studied this already and collectively oppose an unenforceable law. Yes her story is heartfelt but she has never made an arrest, built a criminal case, criminally prosecuted anyone. Even the ATF in the 90s said it was to late for universal background checks. Fast forward to 2017 with nearly 600 million to 1 billion firearms in circulation and in an age where people can make weapons themselves in 30 minutes from their living room in PJs its proof non proliferation is dead. Focus on being tough on violent criminals. No more plea deals for violent offenders and maybe hire real security experts with ACTUAL experience to help secure soft targets.

Re: “South Burlington Man Arraigned in Rebels Stalking Case

"Emotional distress" is the only grounds the judge used. That is EVERY political debate in this country. The young adult lives in a small town desling with a small town political issue.
That is not a proper bar for due process. Wherever you stand on the issue there is the law and it has to be protected. I have said it many time the federal government needs to step in and be turned loose on these state officals. ACLU should be rushing to Dan's defense. At no time did the adult Isaiah say stop leave me alone. That is a pretty big condition in stalking cases. Meanwhile this ties up police and court resources from legitimate cases.

Re: “Vermont Legislators Admit to Cheating the System. Are They Justified?

In the federal government the rules are very specific. I would be terminated from my agency for this. It's definitely illegal. That said will our state government step up? Nope. So I call on all in local Law Enforcement to ticket them. Especially the ones texting and driving.

Amy they are using the federal GSA rates to apply to them which is illegal if they hold you to differing standards.

Re: “Burlington School District Asks City for a Loan of up to $4.8 Million

So your lack of preparation and ability to operate within budget is now everyone else's problem?

A concern I have is this could be used to circumvent the voting process. Instead of cutting costs especially at the bloated administrative level. If the citizens vote to not approve budget increases but yet they borrow money to meet an increase who pays that loan back? The citizens naturally will be forced to pick up a tab they don't approve of.

Not saying this is the case here. Just that hopefully checks and balances are in place.
