Dear Julie and Steven-
We are thinking of you and your families, so much loss in the past year. Your parents were some of the very best, its just not fair that you didnt get to enjoy many more years with them. We are grateful that your Dad is no longer in pain though. He was a wonderful teacher and coach. And he was clearly so proud of you both! Sending love and hugs-

I am beyond sad to know that this talented, generous woman’s life was likely shortened by her experiences serving in the military. We MUST do better to care for the invisible wounds that our service people bring home with them. It’s our duty. I send my deepest sympathy to Ms. Sweetser’s family and friends.
This is TERRIFYING-- my 84 year old Dad was recently in a skilled nursing facility for rehab after an amputation, and the care was marginal. And this was at one of the GOOD places! We owe Vermont seniors access to safe and well staffed facilities.
I think it is extremely commendable that Ms. Hanna's husband and family have been so open about this tragedy. There IS real stigma about depression and other mental health issues, and their willingness to share their experience can only help ease that stigma.
It sounds like Ms. Hanna was a "helper" in her life, and although it will never make up for their loss, I hope her family and friends will be able to see that their beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, etc. did not die completely in vain. I will hold them all close in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks to Seven Days for this important (yet so very heartbreaking) story.
Re: “Obituary: Nicholas Ringuette, 1990-2023”
I did not know Mr. Ringuette or his family, but the sudden passing of anyone so obviously loved and valued makes me sad. He had so much living left to do! I am sending much love and light to all his family and friends.
