Re: “Partnership Settles Hazmat Claims for $70,000

A few 55 gallon drums? R.R. Charlebois allegedly buried a 10,000 gallon metal tank filled with used motor oil behind their old truck shop (still owned by them) before they relocated their services to a new facility in Milton. I guess paying to properly dispose of the hazardous waste was just too expensive after building a new ten million dollar+ shop.

This was reportedly done by direct instruction of the owner, in front of a half dozen employees.

Even after being reported to state officials, NOTHING has been done about this. The tank might last 10 years before rusting through and dumping ~10,000 gallons of used oil into our environment.

The tank is located (underground) at 940-1190 Roosevelt highway, Colchester, VT:,-73.1786348,40m/data=!3m1!1e3

Thanks for protecting our health and environment, and taking violations of the rules seriously.
