Re: “Ellen Powell

Sometimes it's a toss up to figure out what Ellen's best at. She's always been one of the best bass players and teachers and now we are even more generously blessed with her eye for composition and her fluid style behind the lens.

Re: “Lawsuit: Nectar's Negligence Caused 'Wild West'-Style Shooting

This would not have happened when Nectar Rorris owned the place. He gave a damn about Burlington and the safety of the people who live in the city. Burlington has been invaded by a horde of greedy, narcissistic punks and "big city wannabes" whose allegiance is to their egos, their wallets and making Burlington into an urban ghetto. Start with Wonder Boy Weinberger, Don "The Snake" Sinex, the crew at "f"Arts Riot and follow the trail until you reach the end, a yuppie wet dream that has capitalized on the uniqueness of the city they're destroying.

Sigh... Another beautiful soul who is no longer walking on this dirt we call Earth.

Re: “Obituary: Nancy Hudak, 1955-2018

I knew Nancy for almost fifty years. I can honestly say that she was one of the most honest, gentle, generous and caring people I have ever been privileged to know. She leaves a big hole in the heart of St. Albans and in all who have had our lives graced by her presence in them.

Re: “ACLU Slams Plan to Send Vermont Inmates to Mississippi Prison

Sending our Vermont inmates an additional 1,000 miles away to an institution in Mississippi owned and operated by a company that has clearly engaged in unethical and possibly illegal acts to make a buck off the system is absurd and totally beyond the bounds of reasonableness. Phil Scott is a corporate whore who is willing to do anything for campaign money. He deserves in a jail cell himself, not in the governor's office. Even Dick Snelling had more morals and ethics than Scott. And yes, I would be happy to tell him this to his duplicitous face.

Re: “Walters: Thousands Attend March for Our Lives Rally in Montpelier

Does it matter that there were cars with out of state plates in the parking lot? No. The violence and death that comes from the barrels of these weapons is a national and a human problem.
Attempting to dismiss the significance of the movement against the insanity that surrounds this issue by such camouflage is an act of desperation. The NRA and its supporters, primarily the gun lobby, at least financially, are on the wrong side of this issue and they know is, but they don't care as long as they can profit. It's not "freedom" that drives them, it's blood money and profiting from the continued desecration of schools, the murder of children and the breakdown of civility and trust.

Re: “Franklin County Gunmaker Lobbies Against Magazine Capacity Limits

I am so sorry that a company that specializes in designing, manufacturing and selling items that help kill children may have to shut down. It makes me sad that their flow of blood money may be diminished. What a disaster. (Feel free to rate my sarcasm level on a scale of 0-10.)

Re: “Burlington Mall Opponents, Developer in Dispute Over Changes

Don Sinex is a thug. He collaborated with Wonder Boy Weinberger to threaten, cajole and bamboozle the City Council into agreeing to his monument to greed and artifice and now, threatens to use lawsuits to defend his breaking zoning allowances. Burlington deserves better than that, but no one in the city seems to have the intestnal fortitude to really stand up to him and his trained monkey in the mayor's office.
