Re: “Ellen Powell

Sometimes it's a toss up to figure out what Ellen's best at. She's always been one of the best bass players and teachers and now we are even more generously blessed with her eye for composition and her fluid style behind the lens.

Re: “Walters: Thousands Attend March for Our Lives Rally in Montpelier

Does it matter that there were cars with out of state plates in the parking lot? No. The violence and death that comes from the barrels of these weapons is a national and a human problem.
Attempting to dismiss the significance of the movement against the insanity that surrounds this issue by such camouflage is an act of desperation. The NRA and its supporters, primarily the gun lobby, at least financially, are on the wrong side of this issue and they know is, but they don't care as long as they can profit. It's not "freedom" that drives them, it's blood money and profiting from the continued desecration of schools, the murder of children and the breakdown of civility and trust.

Re: “Franklin County Gunmaker Lobbies Against Magazine Capacity Limits

I am so sorry that a company that specializes in designing, manufacturing and selling items that help kill children may have to shut down. It makes me sad that their flow of blood money may be diminished. What a disaster. (Feel free to rate my sarcasm level on a scale of 0-10.)

Re: “Burlington Mall Opponents, Developer in Dispute Over Changes

Don Sinex is a thug. He collaborated with Wonder Boy Weinberger to threaten, cajole and bamboozle the City Council into agreeing to his monument to greed and artifice and now, threatens to use lawsuits to defend his breaking zoning allowances. Burlington deserves better than that, but no one in the city seems to have the intestnal fortitude to really stand up to him and his trained monkey in the mayor's office.

Re: “At UVM Event, Second Amendment Advocates Decry Gun-Control Measures

The one positive thing that came out of this firearms love-fest is the statement by a Republican supporting our right to vote in Vermont. Most national Republicans are doing everything they can to deny the right to vote to as many people as possible.
What he may fail to realize however, is the fact that he and his fellow gun lovers are in the minority and that, if gun laws were written and enacted by popular referendum, they would in all probability be much more restrictive than what the legislature is creating.
The majority of people in this country are sick of watching mass murders enabled by and to some degree inspired by the types of weapons that are being marketed like toys to a society that can't handle them.
We don't allow anyone, not even trained racing drivers to operate Top Fuel dragsters, Formula One race cars or NASCAR racing cars on our streets, yet the availability of these weapons is essentially unfettered. Why? How can that be considered reasonable?

Re: “'Shame On You': In Milton, Pro-Gun Crowd Slams Vermont Politicians

Bravo to Caitlyn Lamotte for having the courage to say what she did.

Our society should no be held in fear and as hostage to a very small minority of our population who feels that they need to possess the means to kill obscene numbers of people as quickly as possible.

Our rights for reasonably peaceful schools and communities are being subverted by their insecurities and distorted thinking and their selfish, myopic definition of "freedom".

Re: “Shinjuku Station Brings Japanese Eats to Old North End

Horray!!! These are the same folks that made sushi for City Markup before they inexplicably ousted them from the store. Their sushi is fresh, tasty, very affordable and they are wonderful folks.

Re: “Burlington's B. Good Adds Breakfast Menu

Yum... I enjoy their food already and this sounds like it will be a welcome addition to the downtown breakfast scene.
