Notably absent from the remark "We're prepared to go as long as we need to," is any consideration of the negative impacts this strike is having and will continue to have on South Burlington students and families.

While some passing motorists may have "honked and waved to show support for picketing teachers all morning" per Mr. Wise' account, many drove by in silence, looking on with incredulity and disapproval.
