Re: “Burlington City Council to Weigh In on Safe Injection Sites

I for one, will let councilors know I adamantly oppose SISs. Addicts need two things to get straight: 1) a desire to get straight and 2) a medically supervised withdrawl from ALL drugs. Burlington's councilors have lost my respect for supporting this insanity. I will be leaving Burlington if this ridiculous idea to enable drug use comes to pass.

Re: “Walters: Sanders' Campaign Has $7.6 Million in Cash

May I stay alive long enough to live at least one of my dreams: TERM LIMITS and the end of the gravy train ride for these three and so many corrupted politicians.

Re: “Burlington Man Tries Every Trick in Search for Missing Kitty

Orson and I connected early on in the search for Lumen. I contacted him because I know from personal experience how terrible it is to go through this. My own cat has been MIA almost 6 years. I still hold out hope he is alive because I have never had a feeling he is not. Miracles happen. I hope Lumen and Orson and Rufus and me being reunited are two of them.

Re: “Too Big to Measure? Inside Vermont's Nonprofit Shadow Government

In some cases, the state paid for a program, and then "We never studied it; we never saw if it was a best practice, and then we never replicated it," said Gobeille.

"It's just tons of money," Gobeille said, "and it's something that should be managed."

SHOULD BE MANAGED? Surely you jest. I think all funding should be suspended immediately with further funding subject to findings by Vermont's state auditor, Doug Hoffer. This certainly reads like a classic case of the right not knowing what it or the left hand is doing, to whom, and for how much.

Re: “Leahy Bill Would Limit Feds' Authority to Search Near Borders

The article says "Vermonters have rightly been concerned about these expanded border zone searches, Leahy said. They believe, as I do, that once inside our country the phrase show me your papers does not belong inside the United States of America. Well Senator Leahy, as is the case on pretty much every time you open your mouth, you and the other two Muskateers too, do NOT speak this Vermonter.

Re: “Utah Millionaire Abandons Plan for Futuristic Community in Vermont

Vermont hypocrisy at its blatant worst. As Hall's spokesman Ellis noted, "Any time a guy with millions and millions of dollars comes into a community and says exactly what Vermont environmentalists have been saying for 50 years we need to get out of our cars, live in clustered living arrangements, and allow the surrounding farm and forestland to sequester carbon I think you should listen to him and engage him in a discussion."

Re: “Muddied Waters: No Clear Solutions for Burlington's Wastewater Problem

It is beyond disheartening the low value the city places on water quality. "Last year, the city spent $734,000 on an "integrated wastewater plan" that isn't even real, only imagines what Burlington might be. And now, the city's hired a consultant? And the director of public works might float a bond at some point? Until the consultant has a plan to present, how about a moratorim on building in Burlington Mayor Weinberger. It is the only responsible course of action at this terrible juncture.
