Re: “Movie Review: Seth Rogen Can't Make the Unlikely Romance of 'Long Shot' Work

Chemistry isn't always about typical physical attraction (for example, sapiosexuals find intelligence sexy) but is also about emotional connection and that feeling that somebody "gets" you.

I felt that positive, sweet, good energy between Theron and Rogan in this movie, as well as in several video interviews with them discussing the film. More than a romcom, "Long Shot" is about believing in oneself and being true to oneself -- a "feel-good" film for our troubled times.

Re: “Burlington Council Hears Updates on Kilburn Case, Mall Development

@leaterhune

Does the CityPlace project qualify for the Opportunity Zone fund designed for "low-income" urban and rural areas? Would be interesting to find out.

Re: “More Lonely Vermonters Are Falling for Relationship Scams

Great article but I disagree with the headline that "lonely" people fall for relationship scams. Anyone can fall for a scam or an imposter, and people on dating sites are not necessarily "lonely" just because they are looking for a partner. In fact, psychologists say the best time to attract a mate is when you're NOT feeling lonely but instead are radiating the same kind of energy you desire in a relationship.

Re: “Burlington City Council Upholds City Hall Park Vote

I"m curious about the cost of the project. The town of Shelburne is building an entirely new, state of the art library and renovating the adjacent Town Hall for $7 million, including design fees, contractor fees, demolition and environmental remediation, and high steel tariffs ... why does a park with no buildings cost $5.8 million?

Re: “Burlington City Council Approves Funding for City Hall Park Renovation

Why not switch to using first and last names? VT Digger requires that, and they also require that all comments refer to the article. It has virtually eliminated bullying. I'm all for correcting someone who has posted false facts, but attacking others' posts, for any reason, is not ok and it brings the quality of the publication down.

Re: “Fire Consumes a Tesla Model X on Iced-Over Shelburne Bay

Something's fishy (pun intended) ... who drives an $80,000 car out onto the ice after dark? Sounds like an insurance scam to me ...

Re: “Pending Town Meeting Approval, Healthy Living Aims to Build Store in Shelburne

I love how "Wealthy Living" is trying to get the town of Shelburne to help finance their project. Their South Burlington store is only 7 miles from this new location -- and Shelburne already has a supermarket ... plus Hannafords, Shaws, Price Chopper/Market 32 and City Market's new south end store are just four miles north! Please don't be greedy -- we don't need another market ... and Shelburne cannot afford to move the fire station after spending a fortune on the railroad lawsuit and the $6.5 million library.
