Re: “Yangser Dorjee’s Himalaya Restaurant

Himalaya is a great new lunch spot for the downtown crowd. It is spacious with views of the water (if you look beyond the old warehouse-type buildings), and there is plenty of seating to go around. I had a combination of 6 momo, two of each variety (beef, chicken, and vegetarian). They were just the right mix of savory and spicy, and the red sauce that accompanied them added a wonderful zing. The service was fast and attentive, and it was easy to get in and out within an hour and get back to the office (although I'm sure a more leisurely meal would have been possible). To sum up: 5 stars!

Re: “Vermont Coronavirus Cases Increase by 24; No New Deaths

Russell, that's not as true as it once was. It was reported a few days ago that we got a lot of new tests from the feds and we're now going to be conducting tests for anyone showing symptoms, regardless of severity. That likely accounts for the gigantic spike in new tests conducted today (quadruple+ from previous days)

Re: “Vermont Announces 35 More Coronavirus Cases, One New Death

Wow, 15% of all test results returned over the course of this whole saga were returned today.

Re: “Vermont to Receive $2B From Coronavirus Bill Backed by Leahy, Sanders

You know there's a $715M discrepancy between the headline and the content of this story?

Re: “Newport Prison Staffer Tests Positive for COVID-19

"Baker said no inmates had been tested for COVID-19 as of Monday, but that the department is monitoring several who have fevers." Imagine if we stopped pretending that testing numbers are significant when we are testing so few and instead reported numbers of people with symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

How much of the 22 weeks worth of pay are "severance" and how much are unused vacation?

Re: “Burlington Police Deputy Chief Suspended Eight Days for Social Media Misbehavior

Jeez, it's really difficult to read that whole report and conclude that Deputy Chief Wright should return to duty. Her conduct was worse than Chief Del Pozo's. The chief deleted his fake account within hours of creating it and reported it to the Mayor shortly thereafter. Deputy Chief Wright used her aliases for months, and presumably would have continued to if this whole firestorm had not occurred.
