Re: “Winooski Green Card Holder Faces Deportation for Pot Conviction

The guy got picked up and convicted for driving around with 6 pounds of pot, and then several years later got picked up for beating up a kid and stealing his iPad and wallet. Then he gets convicted for pot possession again, and we're supposed to feel bad that he's getting deported?

Look, the federal government is treating an awful lot of people very, very poorly because of the big orange muppet in charge. Deporting people with multiple drug convictions and arrests for violent crime isn't something I'm going to lose any sleep over, though. He got awfully lucky when he avoided being deported after his felony conviction, he got even luckier when he and his buddy got away with assault (btw, his buddy is currently in jail for stabbing someone), but when he was still clearly not worried about the law (regardless of how you feel about pot, it was still illegal at the time), it's probably time for him to go.

As an aside, was Gadue's informing customers that they were sending a convicted felon with an arrest for assault into their homes? My guess would be that they weren't, which is pretty sketchy.

Re: “Five-Story Hotel Proposed for Williston Road in South Burlington

Exactly, Oracle. The state pays Larkin hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to let low income individuals stay in their hotels (not for more than 27 days though, when they'd all of a sudden have residency). Have a hotel that's so run down nobody in their right mind would pay to stay there? Just tell the state they can use the rooms as emergency housing, and see it booked up 100% of the time. Why make needed upgrades when you can just take advantage of the state government instead?

Re: “Scott Defends Vermont National Guard, Says No Investigation Needed

If you dispute the allegations so strongly, why not encourage an investigation to prove the reporting wrong?

Re: “Why Bernie Should Run, Pt. 2

Love Bernie, but Bernie Sanders will not beat Donald Trump. He's just too far to the left to win those swing states that will decide the race, and he'd be 79 years old on election day 2020. If you really want to see Trump out of office, write articles pushing Sanders to pick a strong candidate and throw all of his support behind him, not to enter the race himself.

Shame on Citizen Cider for liking this post, as well.

Wow. Way to treat your customers...I think I know someone that's not going to be in business very long, even if the person he was shaming is an a hole.

Re: “Compromise or Veto Overrides? Vermont Dems Have New Leverage Over Scott

If you wanted to know how Vermonters feel about Donald Trump, here's some pretty clear evidence. I'd imagine this is far less representative of Vermonters basic political leanings, and far more representative with their overall disgust in the lack of basic decency that the President displays on a daily basis.
