Re: “Runaway Train? Burlington Has Little Say in Waterfront Railroad Plans

If we go by the numbers - which we probably should - Union Station storage is by far the cheapest option.

1. Northern Urban Reserve - $2,290,000. (although looks like there is an extra 0 that may be a typo or not, so the cost may be that or 22,900,000).
2. South Urban Reserve - $2,240,000.
3. Union Station - $300,000.
4. Rail Yard - ca. $50,000,000.
5. Flynn Ave. - $1,500,000

Opposition makes 0 fiscal or logical sense.

Re: “This Old Zoning Dispute: Duplex to Be Built After Years-Long Battle

The city tried to argue historic value on a obviously blighted building? If I was the judge in civil court for this, I would have had a hard time keeping my eye brow from popping off my head while listening to the city attorney arguing that the burnt down eye sore of a building had historic value. and I am a classics major; I like ruins - I honestly do like ruins.

City Attorney to Judge: "People have been pissing and smoking crack in this building for years, and these big developers are trying to come in and change our community!"
