Re: “Prep Underway for COVID-19 Recovery Center for Homeless

How were these two chosen? She has no experience in the role she's hired for. He's in charge of the physical plant and the medical configuration of the center? What is his experience with medical facilities? Looks like the good ol' boy network, at work. These two progressives plus 25 more employed here? More programs, more tax dollars, more expense, more government with only one requirement: be a progressive liberal. As Jimmy asked, what are their salaries? This may very well be a needed facility but I question the staffing and the procedure for hiring these two.

Re: “Pranksters Plaster Porn on Senate Ag Committee Zoom Session

Walter, Does the state know anything about anything? That's the question

Re: “Vermont Senate to Consider Remote Voting

So long as they're not getting paid their "per diem" for travel/food and lodging, I'm for it. In fact, we could save a boatload keeping them at home. We could also have them "meet" every other year, like NH and several other states. Every time they get together they cost residents money in their pay and per diem and in the progressive programs they love to pass. In case you haven't noticed, the state is in financial trouble.

Re: “Middlebury College Closing Campus Amid Coronavirus Fears

This is absolutely ridiculous, a total joke. It's unfortunate that common sense is so scarce these days. Next it's monkey see, monkey do; all schools and businesses and, and, and.........will be closing and for what? Our one confirmed case and zero deaths. They have no idea how many people have this and the symptoms can be less than the common cold. I'm speechless at how stupidly this is being handled.

Re: “Scott Announces Coronavirus Task Force as Vermont Braces for Likely Cases

Not sure how serious Phil and VT are taking this but the families of the Rice kids that went on break are back at work, business as usual. They're at home with the potentially infected and then, hi ho, off to work they go? A comment in another forum said that Lamoille union had an Italy trip as well, no one staying home. It seems like the state's task force is more for show than anything.

Re: “Sanders Condemns Reported Russian Support for His Campaign

What a shocker. Many millions spent, lives ruined and valuable time wasted trying to to fabricate a relationship between Trump and Russia when in truth, they'd rather have an America hating, Communist sympathizing, multi-home owning Socialist in office. I'm afraid for America if this nut-job gets elected. Get on board the Trump Train people. It's crowded but there's always room for folks with common sense and a love of our country.

Re: “To the Rescue? Burlington Wants Money for EMTs in Year of Big Tax Increases

Remove some firefighters from our five fire stations and replace them with EMTs. As you may have noticed there are almost no fires but lots of medical emergencies. The way they drive those ladder trucks around you'd think the city was burning to the ground but it's just a show folks. EMTs provide better protection for the city and we could cut some other costs as well, like cable tv.
