Re: “WTF: Why Is Public Nudity Legal in Vermont But Public Disrobing Isn't?

The contradiction, between the legality of being nude in public and the illegality of undressing in public, CLEARLY, makes no sense. I am all for ordinary public nudity - there is nothing offensive about the human body, but if I want to hang out naked for an hour or two, in a park, picnicking and sunbathing, I might rather get undressed there, than at home. I might be stopping at my mother's house, the bank, or getting gas on the way, and have no desire to be naked in those places, in fact, I may be less welcome to be naked there! The problem must be the way the law is written, piecemeal. The law clearly seeks to restrict lewd conduct, so why not just say so? It should be perfectly legal to be naked, almost anywhere in public, as long as one behaves in a non-sexual manner. That is the key. Someone should work on that. Vermont is a wonderful place, and the amount of personal freedom Vermonters have is a big part of that. Let's make nudity perfectly legal, without any silly caveats. Let's also make it clear that lewd and lascivious conduct in public will NOT be tolerated. It's not rocket science.
