Strongly disagree that the film presumes that we'll side with the poor. Jessica was revealed in the early going to be a thoroughly wicked character, and by the time the Kims conspired to put out the former housekeeper, my sympathy for them had almost entirely evaporated. Subsequent revelations made clear that there were no real heroes; most of the characters took a turn as the parasite of the title.
