Any of these houses which are not built as net positive energy, or at least net zero, will be a future liability to Vermont. I don't see a word in this article reflecting that it is even a consideration... Maybe this was left out of the story, but I suspect not. No project is better than a bad one.
Don your tin foil hats... the world is about to end and we are the chosen ones who will survive in our little cities until the space ship to our special heaven arrives! Oh... and while you're here, you need to give NewVistas all of your money and possessions and be a slave to MY community. It's God's wish, you know... You don't want me to make you drink this Kool-Aid, do you???
Seriously? I'm not opposed to merging harmless public use of space with governmental property, but this plan is devoid of any kind of architectural site design whatsoever. This is the grounds of our STATE CAPITOL for God's sake... worthy of our most dignified tribute to design quality and contextual city planning. If it is done, it should be done correctly. If it costs too much to do correctly, don't do it. This design has no sophistication or sensitivity whatsoever! Someone please share a photo of Rockefeller Center or Central Park with the promoters for proper inspiration, QUICK!
Re: “Vermont Supreme Court Approves Costco Gas Pumps, Rejects Vallee Appeal”
It is my opinion that Skip Vallee is not worthy of my respect. I have boycotted and avoided all Maplefields gas stations for years. Maybe the concept will catch on...
