Re: “Burlington Activist Takes Aim at 'White Supremacist' Mural

I think it bothers me more that someone paid $100K to have that mural painted than anything in it.

Re: “UVM Student Cited in 'Racist and Threatening Language' Case

The kid made some disparaging remarks, racially based, on a cell phone and someone overheard it? Something seems to be missing here. I'm not sure that alone is enough to warrant punishment.

Re: “Vermont Teacher Fired for Demonstrating Nazi Salute to Third Graders

There doesn't seem to be many details here that would warrant someone being immediately fired. Was she simply demonstrating it, was she trying to get students to buy in to it, was it part of an earlier lesson...? Certainly there is no room for Nazi ideals in a school but what exactly happened here?

Re: “City Reveals Burlington Telecom Bids, But Questions Remain

I think that link is an email address. You can probably email your comments to it.

I think the history of shady doings by this administration makes people opposed to it. This, I suppose, becomes one more reason to be opposed to it.

Re: “Two GOP Legislators Renew Push to Ban Teachers' Strikes

The teachers started the school year without contracts. They didn't just decide to strike out of pure greed.

Re: “Burlington Teachers Vote to Strike If Contract Battle Is Not Resolved

Thanks for reading my posts and for trying to summarize them.

To clarify:

I don't feel we should give teachers "whatever they want" but I don't begrudge them for making the money they do.

I am not against downtown development, just one that creates student housing, parking, and retail stores. I see no substantial, long term jobs being creating with the Sinex/Weinberger project.

I do feel employers in Vermont as a whole pay significantly less than employers in other areas while the cost of living here is comparable to those other areas.

Thank you again for taking such an interest in my posts.
