My Mother Luella Drown Demers of St Johnsbury was in nursing school at Gifford Memorial in Randolph, Vt and there was bomber [army][?b-25?] that crashed into the woods around Randolph and there weren't very many men around so they recruited the students[10+/-] to help scoure the woods for bodies. But when they got close to the burning plane as they were stretching out so not to miss any bodies bullets started flying around and they[unknown who] made them leave . It was around 1941-43 ?summer. Wonder if you have any info/research on that crash? She now lives in nevada.
