If you disagree with the governor on this I urge you to let him know through letters, faxes, and calls. The people still getting arrested over a plant for no damn reason can't wait until the governor is personally comfortable enough with the idea to move foreword. There will always be "more pressing concerns" and to dismiss this issue out of hand because he thinks it's not an important enough concern is offensive.

It's sad but it's probably going to take decades for the reefer madness to end. Weed isn't alcohol, it doesn't impair in the same way or to the same degree as alcohol and it shouldn't be treated as severly as alcohol. But because of prohibition we don't have any kind of reference point for something like weed other then to compare it to the only other legal recreational drug... alcohol. Hopefully science will prevail over gut feelings in the end but I'm not optimistic.
