I agree with the post from Barbara, well stated. I have to also add that I am a mother of an inmate. I would like to see our correctional system change and adopt the Sweden Prison system agenda. The longest sentence is 20 years and during their incarceration they learn a trade. They are also treated with respect and dignity. They gain the self confidence needed to rejoin society.
Vermont DOC is a broken system! I believe everyone should be given a second chance. We need to do what we can to help all to become better, well adjusted person so when they join society they will be successful.
I have learned much through this experience and that is never judge another person.

For those of you who dislike our comments, that is your right. The only thing I can say is I wouldn't wish this experiences on any of you. There are people that commit bad crimes and then there are criminals. There is a difference:)
