"Anti-police sentiment." Why do you think there is anti-police sentiment in this country? Does it maybe have to do with the fact that in 2017 there have already been 697 people killed by the police in this country? We allow cops to get away with literal murder. 697 deaths. And you know why it keeps happening? Because our justice system allows police officers to get away with it under the guise of "acquittal." Sickening.

Hey @citizen, so you're an outspoken proponent of free speech, are you? Did you support Colin Kaepernick's right to take a knee during the national anthem? What about the millions of women who took to the streets--peacefully--to demonstrate against misogyny and for equal pay and representation at the Women's March? What about the people who protested in the streets--peacefully--when Tamir Rice, a child, was shot dead in broad daylight by a police officer for playing with a toy gun? Or do you only respect the free speech of white supremacists and Nazis? If you prioritize protecting that over all of the other types of speech, I suggest you do some serious soul searching, and ask yourself why...
Not dangerous at all! Took my turn on it yesterday and it was awesome.
Folks fighting against what they believe to be hurtful and unjust will always be perceived as "militant" by those who are not oppressed in the same way or by those who benefit from their oppression. There is no LGBT without the T. If trans folks felt hurt by the name it is no one else's role to tell them that they are not or should not be hurt by it. None of us are free until we are all free. Stop name calling and start supporting trans folks who need it most.
@knowyourassumptions ...Senator Sanders is traveling around the country with that money attempting to save the healthcare of THOUSANDS of Vermonters on Medicare and millions of others across the country. Elderly, disabled, single parents, and children are going to suffer with the overthrow of the ACA. His money isn't going towards nothing. And by the way, the definition of "big money in politics" relates to huge special interests and lobbyists giving money to candidates in order to buy their support and line their pockets. In this case, the "big money" your talking about isn't just lining his pockets--its being spent on important issue advocacy and saving the healthcare of millions. You are obviously misguided on the definition of "big money in politics" and taking it totally out of context. He's not using it to "scare off challengers," he's using it to actually WORK for his constituents...something other Senators should seriously consider if they want to keep their seats in 2018.
Do we really need another old, white man in the Senate? I don't think so. I love Bernie, but whoever follows him needs to be young and offer something new to Vermonters!
Re: “Jury Acquits Former Vermont Cop Who Shot Drug Suspect in 2014”
@Richard The number of deaths isn't "low"...it's astronomically high compared to literally every other country in the world...if "all lives matter" then we shouldn't be okay with the police killing 1,000+ people every year. It's disgusting and a violation of every American's right to due process of the law. Having a hard job doesn't make it okay to kill people.
