Re: “Walters: Montpelier to Seek Payment for Sanders Rally Costs

Good luck on that one... The now ( 1 percenter ) most definitely won't pay up with his own money... After all the poor fella has to maintain his/her (3) homes... Lest we not forget, his 1st real paying job was as mayor of Burlington. He lived off his 1st (2) wives. His current one, after bankrupting Burlington College, collects a $430.000.00 pension... Like his twisted sister Hillary, Bernie Sanders is a career politician that has crafted the art of spending other people's money to a science...
Getting a nickel out of him is very unlikely as it goes against his very grain... :(

Re: “Quiros, Stenger, Face Federal Charges in EB-5 Scandal

There are so many other players directly involved in this with little to no mention. The longer story aside from the (4) criminals , (2) in handcuffs, his honorable Bill Stenger & Ariel Quiros. State AG TJ Donovan, a politically appointed position btw, thus far & in perpetuity if he can get away with it, refuses to release FOI materials on this case. VT. officials have shown ZERO accountability on the EB 5 scandal. Thus far, thanks in no small part to a bought & paid for AG by the Montpelier Democrats, currently are enjoying a " Stay out of Jail Card. " Here is a short list of dirty politicians that turned a " blind eye ": Senator Patrick Leahy, Congressman Peter Welch, Gov. Peter Shumlin, all facilitators & there are many more within State Gov't. Very sad indeed. :(

Re: “24-Hour Handgun Waiting Period Clears Vermont House

The " anti-gun " lawmakers in Montpelier will never be satisfied until all guns are outlawed, period... The liberal Progressive/Democrats in Montpelier have become the " Ruling Overlords " over each & every Vermonter across the state. The vast majority of them come from elsewhere, moved to their new playground, called Vermont. Many are wealthy, own more than (1) home, college educated with law degrees. They create the " Rules & Regs. that work in their respective favor. The places they left in order to get away from it all, they are simply recreating it right here in VT. They get on the local school boards & run for town positions across the state. The rest is history... :(

Re: “Media Note: Sanders Aide Accuses VTDigger of 'Systemic Racism'

Well now, since SEVEN DAYS is a paper for & about the Liberal sissies in Chittenden County in either case I will add my Conservative Non-Chittenden County 2 cent opinion here... Bernie Sanders is as real as a $3 dollar bill.
That he would even remotely associate himself or his make believe presidential campaign with the likes of a convicted felon speaks volumes. Mr Weaver is simply playing the racist card against VTDigger & has absolutely ZERO merit. No story here... Rocha is/was a convicted Steelworkers Union Embeziller hired by the Bernie Sanders campaign, end of story & kudos to VTDigger for reporting on it...

Re: “Bill to Create Waiting Period for Gun Sales Advances in Senate

For those keen on state intrusions on one's thoughts or personal feelings I suggest reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley or perhaps 1984...
Unfortunately, Vermont has indeed New Yorked my Vermont Gun Rights away effective 2017.
Now that VT has NY gun laws, our esteemed liberal lawmakers, i.e., Philip Baruth simply adds amendments to the existing gun laws. The Anti-Gun floodgate has been opened... ( I profoundly give Gov. Phil Scott credit for this )
Law abiding gun enthusiasts & sportsman such as myself are now a criminal element because of reckless legislation created by clueless elected liberal lawmakers that simply live in fear of guns, period.
Am I about to pay $75.00 to $100.00 to a licensed gun dealer in order to sell a $25.00 handgun or rifle to a friend I've known my entire life to run a background check, hell no! I will predate the Bill of Sale. DONE... Now I have broken the law & I have effectively become a rogue criminal.
The moral of the story here is the " unintended consequences " when bad laws are written.
Thank you & have a nice day... :<)

Re: “Vermont Senate Bill Would Ban Single-Use Plastic Bags

Where is the socialist Bernie Sanders when you need him. You know the Brooklyn, NY Oligarch with all that money & power to put the plastic industry out of business once & forall. Take from the rich ( except him & Jane ) & give to the poor peasants, i.e., you & me...
In all seriousness, what a bunch of whiners. Today's grocery store plastic bags are completely recyclable and can be returned to people's local transfer stations and/or the grocery stores themselves. A little personal responsibility on everyone's part would go a long ways here, NOT more Laws & Regulations... :)

Re: “Vermont Ethics Panel Conflict Leads to Director’s Resignation

An ethics commision, but absolutely no power of authority. In not so unusual VT politics out of Montpelier, the powers to be found a reason to get rid of Mr. Leven for expounding the truth... Sad, not surprising, but sad...
