Celebrate the life and work of legendary Burlington photojournalist Matthew Thorsen. Capturing the pulse and spirit of the Vermont community, Thorsen creates photographs that are revelatory, insightful, and often humorous. Thorever features approximately 30 images focused on his portraiture, including Seven Days assignments, the local music scene, and the artist’s family.

The exhibition was displayed May 19-July 15, 2018 at the BCA Center on Church Street (2nd floor, stairways and lower level).

Produced by: Seven Days and the BCA Center.

About the Opening Benefit Bash...

On May 19, friends and fans of Matthew Thorsen's photography gathered at BCA for the exhibit opening. CBD Events generously donated catering services and DJ J. Boom kept the part groovin' along.

A video of the opening remarks and a slideshow of candid shots from the evening was photographed by multimedia journalist, James Buck.

Melanie Maria Goodreaux contributed the recorded tribute poem "Barnacle of Bone" for the event. Listen to the poem, mixed by Craig Mitchell, below:
