2/7/16: Jen Trần has owned Allure Salon in South Burlington for a decade. She works with her daughter Ly and her sister Hannah and they have built a following of regulars who visit often to get their nails done. In 2000, Jen immigrated to Vermont from Vietnam with Bình, her youngest son. Six years later, her daughter Ly and another son, Huy, joined them. Jen came to the United States to provide a better life and an education for her children and all three are college graduates.
Although the local Vietnamese community is small, it is tight knit and vibrant. Eva joined the Trầns as they celebrated the Vietnamese New Year with their friends and family at St. Joseph's Preschool in Burlington. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (best wishes for the new year)!
Music: Kevin MacLeod, "Ishikari Lore," "Vadodara," "Finding Movement"
