Re: “Burlington Cop Resigns After Perjury Allegation in Drug Case

Under del Pozo's leadership:
-orders body cams turned off at a standoff in Colchester
-murders petty drug dealer Kenny Stephans and 76 year old mentally distressed Phil Grenon
-botches the handling of the dissemination of KKK and anti-Semitic fliers around town
-strong arms the closing of Zen Lounge over hip-hop acts
-arrests two people for wearing Anonymous masks
-fails to warn the women of Burlington after an alleged rape in a downtown courthouse bathroom
-his dept cited for disproportionate stopping and searching of people of color
-add now his officers engaged in bogus police stops followed by phony pretext to search followed by perjured affidavits

How much longer is Burlington going to tolerate his crimes, professional malpractice and incompetence?
Call your city councilor. Demand his resignation now!

Re: “Burlington Council Candidate to Sue State’s Attorney for Discrimination

I know Abdullah from the Y. Always kind and respectful. He was never difficult to understand. I do know that he spoke out against Brandon del Pozo for police chief. Del Pozo wrote a pro-racial profiling master thesis. He bragged about sending countless Black and Brown men to Riker's Island under the NYPD "broken windows" military-style policing and he's been associated with Muslim surveillance in the NY/NJ area. Any connection?

Re: “New Pot Plan: Legalization Lite

When BTVGreen successfully put a cannabis/hemp legalization referendum on the Nov 2012 Burlington ballot it passed with 70.2% of the citywide vote. Three weeks later, a previously reluctant Shapp Smith agreed to allow a de-criminalization bill out of committee for a successful floor vote. BTVGreen then went to both Dave Zuckerman and Chris Pearson asking them to help us build a statewide movement for legalization. Both refused saying applying political pressure was not the "Vermont Way. Throw in the empty suit Tim Ashe and we now have three Fauxgressive frauds sitting in top offices still too frightened to take on Big Pharma, Big Alcohol and the state's police agencies and deliver what the people are demanding. Full legalization of cannabis and hemp products now! It's long past time for your lies and excuses.

Re: “Nunyuns Bakery & Café

Been all over this town and Nunyuns is the best eatery for breakfast and lunch. Best food, best prices and best politics. Closest we have to a citywide salon. Support the neighborhood. Support Nunyuns

Re: “Hundreds Brave Cold to Protest Trump at Burlington Rally

Why are people who are so justifiably eager to protest Trump's neo-fascism unwilling to rise up against Miro's neo-liberalism? They're both using capitalist social cleansing to sell-off our commonwealth to the 1%

Re: “Residents Urge Advisory Board to Keep Burlington Telecom Local

Jane Knodell will sell out Burlington Telecom just like she sold out Burlington College property to Eric Farrell, like she sold the BTC to Wall Street millionaire Don Sinex, like she'll sell out City Hall Park to Pomerleau, like she'll sell out the Memorial Auditorium to UVM, like she'll sell out refugees' sanctuary statue to Donald Trump. Anyone see a pattern here? Vote this neo-liberal capitalist empty suit out on March 7th and vote in independent Genese Grill in Wards 2/3. Knodell does not represent Burlington values. She's a tool for the 1%

Re: “Don't Panic: In Advance of Trump Inauguration, Burlington Activists Perform Hysteria

Citizen.............we anarchist like to say that if voting ever really changed anything then the capitalist class would have outlawed it long ago. By suggesting that these women "take off their dish gloves" and put their "big girl panties' on you not only reveal your women-hating misogyny but your ignorance of the role of protest in the United States. On MLK day, reflect on how immoral this country has been from genocide against Native Americans to slavery to Hiroshima to Vietnam to Jim Crow to Black Lives Matter to Standing Rock, ad nauseum. Read a book instead of lecturing people with your limited range of understanding and vile value system
