An Evening With Kim Addonizio: Poetry & Memoir

When: Mon., Oct. 3, 7 p.m. 2016
Phone: 802-865-6432
Price: Free.
In one piece from her collection What Is This Thing Called Love, Pushcart Prize-winning poet Kim Addonizio writes, “You don’t know what love is / but you know how to raise it in me / like a dead girl winched up from a river.” This is not your typical love poem. Called “one of the nation’s most provocative and edgy poets” by the San Diego Union-Tribune, Addonizio doesn’t shy away from topics of sex, death, drugs and booze in her six poetry collections. Lit lovers lend their ears when she shares selected stanzas from Mortal Trash: Poems and passages from her memoir Bukowski in a Sundress: Confessions From a Writing Life as part of the Champlain College Division of Communication and Creative Media Speaker Series.
