When lauded Boston indie-rock band Beeef first formed, they planned to be a one-off Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute act. But they quickly abandoned the twangy concept as their punchy rock sound began to take shape. With garage-pop aesthetics at its core, the band’s work evokes new wave punk with driving bass lines and peppy, picked guitar melodies. Meanwhile, melancholy shoegaze riffs recall the nonchalant malaise of ’90s slacker rock. Nostalgic feelings and a predilection for summertime culture propel the quartet’s debut, A Beeef CD. Beeef perform on Monday, March 19, at Radio Bean in Burlington.
