Front person Sammie “Big Sam” Williams, formerly of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, is a veteran player known for his work with Dave Matthews and Widespread Panic, as well as frequent appearances on HBO’s “Treme.” Get down with Big Sam’s Funky Nation on Sunday, August 19, at the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge in South Burlington.
