Re: “Tradin’ Paint: Days and Nights of Budget Brinksmanship

So SevenDays issues s correction that it didnt try numerous times to speak with Little Timmy Ashe. WTF, you either did or you didnt! How do you get that wrong? Could it be that Little Timmy Ashe was upset and demanded the story be changed so not to reflect poorly on him? Conflict of interest is alive and well.

Re: “Tradin’ Paint: Days and Nights of Budget Brinksmanship

Once again, a token reference to Ashe (declining an interview) and you let it go. Why no snark or criticism directed his way for wieseling his way out of an interview. You are not holding him accountable for his part in the chaotic management of the special session. Ashe is getting a free ride from SevenDays.

Re: “Scott Blinks in Vermont Budget Battle, Will Allow Third Bill to Become Law

Governor Blinks? Losing all respect for this paper. We should be thanking te Governor and calling out Tim Ashe and Mitzi Johnson for needless tax increases. This papers unwillingness to criticize Ashe is becoming a joke, time to rethink your conflict of interest policy.

Re: “Walters: Budget Deal Remains Elusive

So Tim Ashe effectively creates a government shut down on his own. How incredibly self serving can a Senate leader be? Mitzi Johnson had a chance to show true leadership but instead caved to the Chittenten County Progs. Zuckerman, what say you? This was a chance for you to show leadership and cooperation as well but apparently no one home here either. The Senate clearly blew this one. Governor Scott, thanks for the attempt to compromise and the display of true leadership. WTF is up with Kitty Toll?

Re: “Walters: Scott, Legislature Still Talking Past Each Other

A fair compromise from Scotts team. There will be a $50 million deficit next year only if the Dems dont do anything to address the excessive spending in the Ed Fund. The total Ed Funf is $1.7 billion and the Dems arent willing to find $50 million of efficiencies in a budget that big. The Dems have squandered this entire special session for the purpose of preventing Phil Scott the ability to not raise taxes. Vermonters deserve better!

Re: “Walters: Vermont House Fails to Override Scott's Budget Veto

Mr Hoffer, I respectfully disagree with you. Kansas went to far with their trickle down approach, it was destined to fail. Affordability is a real issue in VT and taxes, of all types, are a significant piece of that. I dont need peer reviewed literature to tell me otherwise. I am a non Chittenton County Vermonter and know far to many friends and neighbors that are adversely impacted by their taxes. Phil Scott gets it!

Re: “Walters: Vermont House Fails to Override Scott's Budget Veto

Mr Hoffer, if you lower the cost of taxes and continue to encourage economic growth as the Governor is doing, there will be natural growth in our general fund revenues to cover the additional cost as Vt becomes a more attractive place to do business.
