Re: “Burlington School Board Blocks Construction of Preschools

Thank you to all for taking the time to BREATHE
We voted money solely for improving the sad conditions of the schools. No where was there any mention or new schools, much less their design. Please please take care of deferred maintenance that you showed us in the slide show. And please make schools handicap accessible. I am sure the 30 kids who have to wait could be put in a temporary building, as I have seen you do in the past.
Miro has fast trackked a marina...who knows about this...city hall park where 33% will be paved over and 2/3 of the trees removed, the majority of which are healthy, the 14 story mall has added and subtracted items who can follow this And NO ONE ever saw any drawing until this spring when Miro was saying GO GO GO ...

Re: “Obituary: Frederick Grant Hill, 1935-2018, South Burlington

Oh No Fred.. I did not even know you were sick...
You and Sandy Milens were my photo heroes when I first came to town as a preschool teacher in 1971 and taught your son, Tristram, at the Children's school, here in Burlington. I was fascinated as you put 17 lights or more or less on one ski boot, from Rossignol. took polaroids and used a huge 4x5 camera for a product shot.
My favorite time with you was when you got that marvelous 270 degree camera, with a lens like the eye of a cow, and took a huge group photo of the citizens of Burlington on the south side of City hall like the photo taken 100 years before that. Sen Leahy, being tall, is right in the middle of the photo. My friends and I snuck in on the far left, after I tried to help you get all of the people into place, and in the view! I treasure that photo today, as it hangs on my wall. I am still using my cameras professionally...and somewhere in my collection is a family portrait of Tristram and his young family. Peace my good friend. Thank you for all the advice and friendship you gave to me. And if someone from your family is reading this...please tell me when the memorial service is.
my best Carolyn Bates
