6/30/16: Rutland native Sally Olson has been fixated on the music of the '70s since she was little. For the past two and a half years, she has been performing as her musical icon, Karen Carpenter. Thursday night, Sally brought her Carpenters Tribute Concert to Wake Robin, a retirement community in Shelburne. Accompanied on piano by Bill Reed, her musical director, Sally performed Carpenters classics with three costume changes. She talked to Eva about her personal connection to the tragic pop star.
You can catch Sally next at Birchwood Terrace in Burlington on July 14th.
This week is the Cartoon Issue of Seven Days, so check out the comic about Sally and Karen by Harry Bliss and Sarah Tuff Dunn!
