Administrative Note
Please note that this restaurant's star rating has been skewed by repeated ratings from a one-time customer.
We intended 7 Nights to operate on the concept of 1 customer meal = 1 rating. That has not been the case here.
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to alter past star ratings without deleting entire comments, something we are reluctant to do.
Going forward, we have changed the system so that you can choose NOT to assign a star rating when writing a comment card. Simply choose N/A instead of clicking on the stars. This will not affect the rating of the restaurant.
We have also asked owners and employees to identify themselves as such. Their ability to rate their own restaurants has been disabled, and their comment cards are labeled "affiliated."
Thanks for using 7 Nights.

Rich ard, I think you're confusing VPR with Vermont PBS. The link you shared is on the VPR site, but it's describing the sale of Vermont PBS' FCC broadcasting licenses.
Hi all, just wanted to clear up any misconceptions about Matthew's employment at Seven Days. He became a full-time staff photographer in 2014, and he did have health insurance through Seven Days, as reported on his GoFundMe page last fall: https://www.gofundme.com/matt-and-di
Like all of our permanent, full-time employees, he also had disability and life insurance through Seven Days.
Hi Manitsky,
Yes, I did read all of these submissions. Many of the activities required students to demonstrate knowledge of state government or the U.S. Constitution. Some invited them to explore Vermont and U.S. history. Others emphasized participation in the community. And a few invited students to express their opinions in a variety of ways, encouraging them to use their voices to advocate for their beliefs.
The instructions for that activity were: "Write a poem about America." We intentionally invited participants to interpret that in any way they chose, and they did! The submissions we received came from students all across the political spectrum, as you'll see if you pause the video and examine the entries we included here.
You can find the scorecard and all of the activities at goodcitizenvt.com.
Hi RealityCheck,
I appreciate your suggestion re: requiring commenters to use first and last names.
Like every media outlet, we wrestle with how best to encourage thoughtful, civil comments on our site. It's a challenge, for sure. Our approach to commenting hasn't changed much since I wrote this piece for our media issue a couple years ago, explaining it. This policy is intentional: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/why-do…
For now, we rely on a team of moderators to ensure commenters are following our guidelines, and we appreciate readers who report comments that they feel cross a line. Find the guidelines here, and linked below every commenting box on our site: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/Commen…
Thanks for your feedback.
Actually, Jay, here's a more direct link to the information you're after:

Hi Jay,
You can find stats on our readership in our media kit, which is linked along the footer (through "Advertising") of every page of our website. Here's the link for you:

Hi there, I'm stepping into this lively comments thread to remind everybody to keep it civil. Here are our commenting guidelines. Please follow them.

It's true that we generally give commenters greater latitude in criticizing public officials, especially those who are running for office. We also tend to give greater latitude to commenters criticizing Seven Days. That said, we typically draw the line at profanity, direct or implied threats of violence, or repeated personal attacks.
We do our best to moderate these discussions, and we appreciate your help in keeping them constructive, and reporting comments you feel cross the line.
