Side Dishes: Leftover Food News

Last Friday, a bill that would allow farmers to sell up to 40 gallons of raw milk per day sailed through the Vermont House, with a vote of 96-40. Careful oversight by the state, to ensure safety, is part of the package. The Senate has not yet taken up the bill.

You may be craving a mug of freshly brewed O Positive, an ale flavored with elderberry, pomegranate and red raspberry, but trying to get one at Waterbury’s The Alchemist right now would be, well, fruitless.

The popular pub is closed for renovations and will reopen on May 12. When it does, look for some new nosh on the “gastro-pub”-style menu.
