Vermont hospital food just got an infusion … of cash. On Monday, Rep. Peter Welch announced a $143,000 federal grant for Fletcher Allen Health Care’s Center for Nutrition and Healthy Food Systems.

Welch made the announcement at the opening of FAHC’s new Harvest Café. The “green” eatery’s mission is to serve nutritious, local and organic food while reducing waste. What a concept: healing bodies and the Earth.
