Re: “Exploring Vermont's New State Park: Taconic Mountains Ramble

Have been wanting to visit this new park for months. Dan's description might get me off my duff, finally.

Re: “Breakfast Club: Popover Stop at Rustic Roots

I was fortunate to grow up in a house where the lady in charge--my scrappy and resourceful French Canadian mother--made the world's best popovers. It was almost magical how tray after tray of perfectly browned domes of dough came forth from the oven on the nights she made them. I do believe it's time for a popover renaissance. If Vermont can produce substantial amounts of some of the world's best cheese, beer, cider, and more, what amazing things might we do with the popover?

Re: “Stone Leaf Teahouse and the Art of Roasting

When Stone Leaf first opened I held my breath: the times were tough, economically speaking, and who (other than John Wetzel) would have thought that a tea shop would survive, let alone flourish. But flourish it has. I drink much more coffee than tea, but I love what Stone Leaf is and offers and visit whenever I can. Congratulations on the shop's success, Stone Leaf. And thanks SevenDays for the piece.

Re: “Courting Democrats, Republican Phil Scott Airs a Familiar Ad

Of course parties change over time. Still, for decades Franklin County Dems as a group have pulled to the right of Dems in many other Vermont Counties. So when Mr Cioffi talks about the party not being the same as when he was growing up, it could have as much to do with where he is from--and I grew up there too, so this isn't purely theoretical--as the party.

Re: “A Runner’s Yoga Marathon: Day 1

Quite an accomplished long distance runner, or so sayeth the interwebs. (Collegiate All American isn't too shabby. I'd choose that over being able to touch my toes any day!)
