Ed James farmed in Shoreham and was managing the Shelburne Airport at the time. The oil hose didn't have a slip joint so it wanted to twist off as soon as it was twisted on. Russian radial engines are tough. I practiced for my license flying a 1938 Cub into Swanton and Newport and three grass strips in the islands.

How about all the windmills?? More people should get up on the ridgetops and see what's going on. There are access roads along some VT ridges that look just like the proposed Green Mountain Parkway that was soundly rejected decades ago.

My father hiked in to the Randolph wreck as a teen. He told me they kept the kids away from the crash because of the bodies, surprised to hear that they were looking for bodies. He said he could hear them destroying the secret equipment, including the Norden bombsight. He didn't mention bullets flying around.
