Re: “Burlington Council Excited — Yet Anxious — About Mall Project

Gonna be a waste of time and money at the end I think.

Re: “Brave New Bureaucracy: REAL Licenses Slow Down Vermont Drivers

Fuck, I didn't even realize I ended up with a REAL ID the last time I had to go in to renew...totally would have taken the privilege card if I had known about it.

Re: “Landslide: Weinberger Trounces Challengers to Win a Second Term

There should be literal, designated plots of land that are like 20x20 feet where they can put their stupid signs as long as they pick them up after. I hate seeing Miro for Mayor, or Goodkind for Mayor, or whatever party it is every god damn 20 feet. It's obnoxious really and doesn't sway my mind any differently no matter how many of those ugly signs I see. I've almost made it a mission to pull and throw every single one I see they've become so obnoxious.

Re: “WTF: Why is there an intermittent bike lane on Burlington's North Avenue?

How about no bike lanes and we just treat cyclists as motorists and they obey it or pay it, just like we have to click it or ticket as well as stop at every stop sign and red light or else risk facing a ticket and/or injury? I see enough cops wandering around doing very little every day that they could have a field day with the amount of tickets they could hand out to cyclists. It would open more room for parking in some areas too, because we obviously just don't have enough, or at least that's what I've been hearing. It's funny how cyclists want to "Share the Road" but don't want to follow the rules when it's not convenient for them, and why the hell do we have signs on road with bike lanes that say "Bikes may use full lane" or "Share the Lane"? Sounds like they get to have their cake and eat it too while I have to follow the rules of the road and constantly keep an eye out for random cyclists that hop off and on sidewalks, pass lanes of traffic to get to the front then get mad when they want to go straight but get cut off by a vehicle turning right...man the scenarios go on and on. Save the City some money and maybe even make a few bucks by just treating them as vehicles. Worried that 25 MPH is too fast for them to keep up with it? Then lower it, at least in the hub. NO ONE should be doing 25 through the downtown hub and since the limit IS 25, most people like to use the "5 over" rule so in reality they are going 30-35. Maybe if the speed limit was more like 15, at least in the hub area and bikes and vehicles truly shared the road we'd see a difference.
