Re: “The Scuffer Tap & Table

slop house
this place would be right at home in 1975 on Cape Cod. I tried it out with my wife shortly after the new owners opened up, it was not good. Chalked it it up to working out the kinks....3 months in still got the kinks. I met a friend for lunch and although the food its self was very good for what it was, I could have gotten it at any place on church street. The menu is all over the place and the steak section on the menu has the least amount of entrees in it. The menu is not very creative as a whole. THIS PLACE OFFERS NOTHING YOU COULDN'T DO AT HOME YOURSELF probably better. Thrown together on a small plate(that was chipped and looked about 50 years old). Save your self the disappointment and eat elsewere Food: 2 Ambiance: 2 Service: 2

Re: “The Scuffer Tap & Table

2007 prices and 1977 food
yea so my wife and i went to the newly reopened scuffer steak and ale house the other night. The place has potential but the food was the same as always, with it being a "new" restaurant you would think that they wouldn't have almost the same menu that the old place had but they did. The same old plates the same old selections oh but the price was very modern. I don't mind paying good money for a good dinning experience but make me say wow!!! I thought we finally had a STEAK HOUSE in Burlington, guess not. What we did order was cooked to perfection and tasty with the crab cake appetizer being some of the best i have ever tasted. It was presented well and led me to believe that we were in for a treat. I was let down however when our entrees came. the steak was perfectly cooked but the asparagus was a different story, in one word MUSH. If your going to make your prices more this decade you should do the same with the food and the selections on the menu. Oh and tell the waitstaff that rushing a table by bringing the food out all at once is a deal breaker for most clientele or do you just not do courses? Food: 2 Ambiance: 3 Service: 2
