Re: “Border Patrol Arrests Two Mexican Farm Workers in Vermont

Are they here legally?? If not and the farmer knew they were not here legally he should also be arrested. As to the point these are jobs people in this country will not do, pull the plug on welfare and they will need to take whatever jobs are out there!!! There are help wanted signs all over the place and yet we have far too many sucking the tit of state and federal government. Do the math, this is a process that cannot be sustained!!!

Re: “The Parmelee Post: Civil Engineers Mystified by Presence of Human Life Within Winooski Traffic Circle

Whoever designed and approved the circle is a special kind of stupid!!!! That whole setup is so damn confusing and is going to get someone killed!! Winooski has been on the tit of the government for many years maybe they were made to do.

Re: “Burlington Cops and Clergy Break Bread and Talk About Diversity

Let us not dumb down the test. Instead let us teach up to the test. If there are questions that have nothing to do with the work itself yes, remove them. But again, do not dumb down the test to allow others to pass it.
Being at the end of my career I can tell that test are not the best way to get good people. They may help in highlighting some issues an individual may have but we miss getting some good people this way as well.
But there indeed needs to be a knowledge base for the job or any job for that matter.
And as for the logo in the other comment: Stop Killing Black People. Does this also apply to black on black crime??

Re: “After Dallas Ambush, Burlington Cops Curtail Solo Patrols

The issue is the nuts that are out there and take this as an opportunity to kill a police officer. Does it cost more? Yes it does. We are not that far away from a lack of Rule of Law, once that breaks down we no longer have a country. I hate to say but, I think we are all witness to the collapse of this once great nation.
There are far too many with their hand out and not enough working to pay the bill. Of course this current government likes it this way because they have control. Maybe it's time for a true new government!

Re: “Anti-Poverty Group Proposes a $2-Per-Night Hotel Fee

How about creating jobs!!!!!! Both parties want to keep people on the dole. Us poor working bastards keep getting taxed and taxed, it has to stop!!!!! If you have no skin in the game you get nothing. There are a number of jobs unfilled because the government gives you more money to sit on your ass, what's wrong with that picture?????

Re: “Vermont Inmates Pine for Their Old Kentucky Prison

The old saying is, is you can't do the time don't do the crime. How are these pinheads suppose to be treated?? You broke the law and you pay for it, very simple. Now we are suppose to give them jobs, educate them and ensure their feelings are not hurt!! What the hell is going on in this country??
Life in jail or prison should be such that you do not want to return; not a place to get your BA get out do another crime return and start work on your Masters.
Hey here's an idea, lets keep screwing the taxpayers!!!!!
