Re: “Walters: Vermont House Moves Toward Approval of Saliva Testing Bill

Representative Conquest, How is this test evidence when it is not good science?
This test is not valid for impairment. Period! If this bill passes, the ACLU will have a field day in court. I will not give up my DNA to an officer on a traffic stop.

Re: “The Cannabis Catch-Up: Vermont Lawmakers Know the Value of Taxing Weed

My thanks to Sasha Goldstein. Your use of the word "siphoned" is quite accurate. Now the question remains, where did the money get transferred to? Did DPS get the funds returned to fund unrelated expenses?

Re: “Extra: 'Floydian Slip' Host Explores the Cover Art from 'Wish You Were Here'

The work of Hipgnosis and the music of Pink Floyd were a big part of my youth. The hand made graphics, (no Photoshop), spoke volumes about the artists work. These graphic artists continue to inspire my interpretation of artist's work even today. Thanks Ken!

Re: “Walters: Scott Says He'll Sign Bill Legalizing Marijuana in Vermont

Thank you Governor Scott.
You are making history by signing H.511. The passing into law of this legislation is a big step in the right direction towards restoring civil rights, and ending a prohibition based on lies told in the 1930's.
Let us now set up a fair and inclusive tax and regulate system. We must give Vermont's craft cannabis growers a legal way to work . Vermont's cannabis should live up to it's reputation of being, "High Mountain Green"!

Re: “Two Notorious Crashes Fuel Marijuana Legalization Debate

Lt. Governor Zuckerman is correct when he says," The commission, he added, is "ridiculously stacked" against what he termed "cannabis reform." Additionally, I agree with the other points that Lt. Governor Zuckerman has made in this article.
Rep. Ben Joseph (D-North Hero) is simply wrong. His misuse of the toxicology report of wrong-way driver Steven Bourgoin proves that he is not looking at the cause of this tragic event. Rep. Joseph's contention is simply not good science. Steven Bourgoin had many issues and there were warnings ignored by the mental health system. A medical cannabis user could have 10 Ng per ML in their blood stream and not be disoriented or impaired. I would ask where he was injected with the opioid fentanyl and an antianxiety prescription drug. My understanding is that these drugs are for surgery. The prosecutor in Bourgoin's case has stated publicly on WCAX,that his cannabis use is not a factor in her case against him. We must not use bad science to penalize cannabis users. Fear tactics like those being used now, are not valid.

Re: “Public Safety Commissioner Fears Legal Pot Will Increase Traffic Deaths

Once again we are facing a commission populated by those who are dead set against legalization. If we continue down this path we will fail to protect the civil rights of many Vermonters. We will end up with corporate containment and control of this plant and Vermonters will continue to be subject to arrest for growing and use of this plant. The "public" hearing was a smoke screen.
