Re: “Political Maneuvering Sidetracks a Plan for Permit Reform in Burlington

Just blows my mind that people really believe that they need the municipal corporation's permission to do work on their own private property. Let's see the city prove jurisdiction to subject the people of that town/city/territory, to their municipal codes. Bunch of dam sheep just willingly get in line for their own slaughter.

Re: “More Police Officers Report 'Career-Altering' Training Injuries

Did anyone proofread this article at all? The grammar somewhere around a sixth grade level.

Re: “Seven Issues to Watch in the Vermont Legislature

No, the most significant issue not mentioned here is the endless transgressions of the monarchy against the people of Vermont, the trespass on our rights and the callus disregard of their oaths of office.

Baruth specifically better learn to keep his nose out of other people's houses. I'll keep my things in my home, where I want & how I want and I don't give a dam what you think of it.

Re: “The Cannabis Catch-Up: Seeing Through the Haze

I think the one thing that needs to be regulated above all else, is the governments endless overreach into every last aspect of our lives, in order to extort revenue from us in every way they can contrive.

Anderson just wants to make sure that whenever someone gets pulled over for, well, anything at all, the cop can then go on a fishing trip to test test away and see what other career enhancing revenue makers he can come up with. I think I'm going to start insisting that any cop that pulls me over, take an on the spot steroid test & a psychological stability test, before I talk to him any further.

Re: “The $10K Giveaway: Can a New Grant Program Help Revive Small Vermont Towns?

A direct quote from one of the Lewiston Maine residents;

"Being from Lewiston and having had an office in the Dube Travel Building on Lisbon Street from 1989 until it was sold sold two years ago, all I can say is that most Somalis know how to play the game very well, and Lewiston is certainly not better off because of their presence than it was before they arrived. The City's senior citizens are losing their facility at the Multi-Purpose Center in order to expand the Longley School to meet demand for space and soon enough the City will have to build a new school for all the new Somali students. Somalis have large families, like a baby every year. It works out for them because social services pay most of their bills. On any given school day, there are hundreds of Somali children getting "free" breakfasts at the Longley School to hold them over until "free" lunch time comes around. Then after school they can go home to a dinner prepared with food purchased with food stamp ,(card), money. Whitewash stories like this one cherry pick the appropriate Somalis to interview and it works on many folks that are not immediate to what is going on. Bob Macdonald just got elected mayor of Lewiston and the reason isn't that the majority of Lewiston residents are racists, it's because most of us are fed up with the politically correct BS these people are masters at manipulating."

Also, I don't consume industrial dairy or meat or produce. I get my food from small, local family farms. But it is interesting the level of assumptions you make about someone you don't know at all.

I walk side by side with you in regards to those views on military corruption & spending. The US military budget is the biggest industrial gravy train ever conceived and the illegal wars around the globe on behalf of America's corporations that want to get to other countries commodities are a blight on humanity.

I have nothing against reasonable "immigration". My comment was in regards to a conniving scheme, to import "refugees" in some professional bureucrat's contrived notion of bolstering the local economy with an idiots perception of "fresh blood". This is the kind of garbage you get from politicians that are completely out of touch and see nothing but numbers.

""we have exploited and destabilized in the name of "Democracy" (read Imperialism and war profiteering), which has caused the misery these immigrants are trying desperately to flee. It is a form of blow back."" - Agreed. Completely. but that doesn't mean the entire world population needs to flock to America. People should stay and force change in their own countries and be there to rebuild THEIR countries, just as Americans did.

But if you are all for bringing tens of thousands of rampantly poor people here, please tell me, how many will you be housing and feeding in your home?
