Re: “Former Burlington Cop Charged With Lying About Drug Bust

Yet another lying disgrace to the badge. Of course, with their opportunity for overtime, promotions and pay scale all being "performance based", (more busts = higher pay), this problem isn't going away any time soon.

Re: “Million-Dollar Question: How Much Should Nonprofit Hospital CEOs Earn?

Angela Allard
So, how about we relieve their strain and let them see their families. For those salaries we can divide up that money and hire seven more people to do that same work.
For the joker making over two million, we could hire 20 people at 100K/year to do his job and more.

Re: “Million-Dollar Question: How Much Should Nonprofit Hospital CEOs Earn?

I'm not sure how this "Nonprofit" stuff works really, but those numbers sound pretty darn profitable to me... For the right people of course.

Re: “Papers, Please: The Feds Reach Deeper Into Vermont

This is seriously disturbing, on so many levels. The "Patriot Act" needs to be called out for the blatant treason that it is, it's drafter's & supporters put on trial and the federal government put back on a leash.

White River Junction will become a black hole for me and my family. I will no longer do business in that area at all and will avoid the area entirely. How long before someone is shot & killed by these federal enforcers because they reached for their phone too fast? Maybe it's time to move deeper into the midsection of the country, where this kind of federal incursion isn't allowed. I'm not going to live in a place that resembles cold war Soviet Russia & Nazi Germany.

The most despicable part about it is, it's all about the cash. Federal "security" & all it's equipment & funding is big business these days.

"But area residents and travelers should get used to it." - No, they should push back and INSIST it stops, immediately.

Re: “Power Grab: Contracts Could Seal the Fate of Underwater Transmission Lines

The amount of money needed just to build these completely unwanted long distance transmission disasters could easily pay, likely ten times over, for rooftop solar arrays on warehouses, shopping centers, schools, offices and parking lots, at the source of demand. Thereafter producing free, clean power without transmission lines traversing several states. But that doesn't put the cash in the right pockets, does it.?

Re: “Attorney General Donovan: DMV Facial Recognition Program Illegal

"Perhaps he should study up before violating the same again in the future..."

Perhaps he should be treated as any of us would be, facing charges and a stay in prison after losing his job. How is it "officials" get to violate the law & betray the public trust with impunity and when caught they just agree to stop?

Re: “Walters: Environmentalist James Ehlers to Run for Governor of Vermont

The only thing I don't like about this is, if James wins, it would screw up my long history of staunch hatred for politicians. Not quite fond of either of the two major parties either but James is one of the few I know that could wear the Dem. title and still have my confidence that the state & the people would come before the party & the cronyism. Hmm... One of the people back in the state house. What would that be like?
