Re: “Monty's Old Brick Tavern

Locally owned with room to improve
My son and I went to Monty's this past Sunday for brunch. We sat on the tavern side, which was not very busy. The decor is updated and comfortable. My 8 year old was entertained while waiting for the food by the wide screen TV's. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The menu is simple breakfast fare. It's nice to find a local restaurant in Williston that's not a chain with children's offerings. The kid's pancake was huge, the hot chocolate a child pleaser piled high with whipped cream. I kept my choice simple, two eggs over eggs with toast. The eggs were very fresh, the sourdough toast tasty. But the home fries, were dried out and cold which is unfortunate. Also the coffee is nothing to write home about, it was weak and bland. I know that this restaurant is fairly new and they will work through some of these rough spots. Looking forward to trying Monty's for dinner some time soon. Food: 3 Ambiance: 3 Service: 4
