Green Mountain Nutcracker [SIV514]

12/3/17: The 11th Annual Green Mountain Nutcracker will be held at the Barre Opera House the weekend of December 16-17. It’s the Nutcracker with a Vermont twist: the Sugar Plum Fairy becomes the Maple Sugar Fairy, loggers and moose get starring roles, and local musician Colin McCaffrey has adapted part of the beloved Tchaikovsky score.

Eva caught a rehearsal at the Moving Light Dance Company in Montpelier and met some of the 60-plus, multi-aged cast, many of whom have been performing in this holiday favorite for years.

Music: Adaptations of Tchaikovsky's score performed by Colin McCaffrey "Contra Dance, Clogging Solo & Drosselmeier's Magic"

"Sugar Plum Fairies" composed by Tchaikovsky & performed by Kevin MacLeod
